BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- A climber spent a night on Mount Shuksan after becoming separated from his party on Saturday.

Whatcom County Search and Rescue Coordinator Deputy George Radicheck reports that a climbing party was near Lake Ann on the south side of Mount Shuksan when one member decided to turn back.

His companions found he didn’t make it back to their vehicle when they returned at about 8 o’clock Saturday night.



A customs and border protection helicopter also assisted in the search, and the crew spotted the missing climber at about 11 a-m Sunday.

The 28-year-old from Seattle was found in good condition after spending the night in the woods.
